Some practical information :
The visits described above are mere suggestions.
All the sites do not open or do not operate 7 days a week and all day
long, even in high season. It is advisable to check the opening hours,
especially if you come to visit this or that particular place especially
. Please note that Our Lady Collegiate church in Vernon is closed to
visitors every sunday morning and during religious services on week-days.
Detailed information
can be found in this site or from the Tourist Office in Vernon or from
the information Desk ('Point Info') in Giverny.
The time shown for the visits is an average estimation that depends
on each visitor's individual tastes and on the time he or she has.
A piece of advice relative to Claude Monet foundation : there
happen to be very long queues especially on Saturday and Sunday afternoons.
this is why we suggest visiting in the morning ( if possible as early
as 10h00, exactly when the house and gardens open). This is particulary
true at some week-ends and French Bank holiday, such as Easter week-end,
Ascension day and week-end, Labour Day (May 1) and week-end, Whitsun
week-end , Bastille day (July 14) and week-end, August 15 day and week-end.
At these dates, do avoid the afternoons (and if you can, also
avoid the mornings, prefer coming on other days.)
